What is darren henley?

Darren Henley is a British arts administrator, writer, presenter and musician. He was born on June 22, 1969. He is most widely recognized as the Chief Executive of Arts Council England, a role he has held since November 2017. Before that, he worked as Managing Director at Classic FM, a leading British commercial radio station, and as Managing Director of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Henley is also the author of several books on music education, including The Virtuous Circle: Why Creativity and Cultural Education Count and the award-winning Music Manifesto: 10 Years On. He has been a music critic for national and regional publications and has presented numerous radio and television programs.

In 2013, Henley was appointed an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in recognition of his services to music and the arts. He was also awarded Honorary Doctorates in Music from the University of Sunderland and Buckinghamshire New University and an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
